9/11 - Elul 18 5766

Beruriah, a'h, the great wife of Rabbi Meir, a'h. consoled her husband, upon the death of their two sons, with words to this effect, "A soul is comparable to an object which was given to us - to each individual, to his or her parents and loved ones, to guard and watch over for a limited time. When the time comes for the object to be returned to its rightful owner, should we not be willing to return it? With regard to our sons, let us therefore consider the matter as 'The God gave, and the God took back, may the Name of the God be Blessed!'[+/-] show/hide text

The victims of 9/11 merited to die Al Kiddush HaShem (sanctifying G-d's Name in public). It is told that Rav Yosef Karo, zs'l, who was on a very high spiritual level, was informed that he had merited that G-d allow him to die al kiddush Hashem. Afterwards, because an event took place which was not appropriate for his spiritual level, he was denied this privilege.

Those that lie in the dust will arise and sing, and those who died Al Kiddush HaShem will merit to be resurrected first, together with the righteous who will be resurrected before the entire Jewish people.

Hashem states, “You shall not defile My unique name, and I shall be sanctified among the children of Bnei Yisroel, I am Hashem who sanctifies you.”

Yitgadal Veyitkadash, Shmay Rabba - Greatness of G-d
Glorified and sanctified be God's great name throughout the world which He has created according to His will. May He establish His kingdom in your lifetime and during your days, and within the life of the entire House of Israel, speedily and soon; and say, Amen.

May His great name be blessed forever and to all eternity.

Blessed and praised, glorified and exalted, extolled and honored, adored and lauded be the name of the Holy One, blessed be He, beyond all the blessings and hymns, praises and consolations that are ever spoken in the world; and say, Amen.

May there be abundant peace from heaven, and life, for us
and for all Israel; and say, Amen.

He, who creates peace in His celestial heights, may He create peace for us and for all Israel; and say, Amen.

In memory of all that died Al Kiddush HaShem Sept. 11th. in the twin towers.
May Hashem console us all for this great loss, and may the victims be a "melitz yosher," a righteous intercessor for Klal Yisrael, especially at this time of Chodesh Elul.
Ktiva Ve'Chatima Tova - May we hear only good news, AMEN!
