Shmita Miracle 5768
A farmer from Zichron Yaakov decided he wants to observe the Halachot of Shmita for his fields.
But in Elul of 5767, he was offered a tremendeous amount of money for Heiter Mechira; this means that by signing the agreement document, he sells his land to Palestinians and he can continue working the land. Some say that this act is considered 'observing Shmita'.
The temptation was too great and the farmer decided to accept the offer and sold his land. But he decided that one piece of land he will not sell and will keep it for himself. On this piece of land, he refused to work it during the Shmita year.
After the High Holidays of 5768, he decided to travel abroad. When he returned to Israel, he checked his farms and was shocked to find what was waiting for him. Wild boars dug deep into the grounds of his land, underneath the fences and entered his farms, ruining everything in sight. The entire land of the farm was ruined - except for the land he did not sell. This remained unharmed, even though the fence around it was not as big and strong as the fence around the entire farm.
All the residents of Zichron Yaakov came to see this tremendeous miracle that HaShem performed. The biggest miracle of all was the message from HaShem, that Heter Mechira is prohibited!
