Living Torah

An interesting story occurred by Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita of Bnei Brak proving that the advanced technology helps learning Torah but is not a replacement for daily perseverance of learning Torah.

A well-known learned man in Bnei Brak spoke with Rav Kanievsky about various matters of the Talmud. Among these matters, the learned man clarified by the Rav how many times the name Moshe (Rabbenu, zs'kl) is mentioned in the holy Torah. "414 times," answered Rav Kanievsky. The learned man replied that as far as he knows, Moshe Rabbenu's name is mentioned in the Torah 2 times more, total 416 times.

Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita smiled and said, "Most probably your resource comes from a computer and it's true, when checking for the amount of times it says Moshe Rabbenu thru a computer it is 416 times but that's because the computer cannot identify nekudot (dotted letters).
וְאִם-יִמְעַט הַבַּיִת, מִהְיוֹת מִשֶּׂה (and if the household be too little for a lamb)
כָּל-בַּעַל מַשֵּׁה יָדוֹ (every creditor shall release)

The spelling is same as משה Moshe but it is not referring to Moshe Rabbenu."
