Armageddon

The word Armageddon is the Greek word equivalent to Gog uMagog. When it is said in Hebrew, it represents the Hebrew words Har Megido (הר מגידו), meaning "Hill of Megiddo" or "Valley of Megiddo".

The name of this battle is symbolic in memory of a terrible and actual battle which took place in Megiddo (an ancient city in Canaan aka Israel), not far from which the Canaanites under the leadership of Sisera were entirely destroyed...

[19] The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money.
[20] They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.
[21] The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength.

HaShem told Devora HaNevia, a'h, that it was time to overcome the army and Sisera and to prepare 10,000 men and gather them on Har Tavor.

Sisra's army was stationed at the valley, close to Nachal Kishon and Barak's army stood on top of Har Tavor. HaShem confused Sisra's army and they imagined hearing clangs of chariots and horses approaching. Truth is Barak's army had no chariots. Sisra's army panicked and fled and Barak's army gave chase and killed the enemy soldiers.

HaShem performed more miracles. Night was beginning to fall and stars appeared in the sky. HaShem moved the stars directly over Sisra's army and it shone on their iron coat of arms. They became unbearable hot and jumped into Nachal Kishon to cool off. Another miracle occurred. Kishon was a very small stream of water but in one moment, it swelled and became a raging river. The soldiers drowned, together with their horses and chariots.

This dreadful total destruction remained for a long time a terrible memory for the nations that witnessed it.

HaShem will perform all these miracles for Am Israel during Gog uMagog in the zchut of Devorah HaNevia.

This is the reason she said in her song URI 4 times; עוּרִי עוּרִי דְּבֹורָה עוּרִי עוּרִי דַּבְּרִי־שִׁיר

The first two URI's are to thank HaShem for the great miracles of winning Sisra and the last two URI's are for the miracle that HaShem will bestow on her.

The Chida HaKadosh, zs'l, says that she asked HaShem in the last two URI (wake up), not to bestow the promised upcoming miracles to her but rather, to transfer her promised miracles to us, the last generation at the End of Days.

Now it can be understood why non-Jews are so frightened of Armageddon...
