Thought You Know Everything?

One day King Solomon, zs'l, was sitting on his throne and demonic laughter was heard from the palace dungeons where Ashmedai (Asmodeous) king of the Desert Demons and Head of the Demon Kings was imprisoned.

King Solomon commanded the demon brought before him. "Why do you laugh?" he asked the demon king. "HAHAHAHAHA, I laugh at you, puny mortal, your knowledge, and your thoughts. There are places which have never heard of you at all." "And where may that be?" "If you want I will bring a man from one of those places," answered the demon.

King Solomon agreed and immediately the demon reached out his hand into a different dimension and brought from there a man with two heads. The King and his court were greatly amazed. When asked the demon explained that there were 7 parallel planes of which Earth was one. The two headed man was from a place called Tevel.

King Solomon talked to the man at great length and he explained that he came from a planet much like Earth with a Sun and a moon and stars and mountains and rivers etc. There were however some differences. The sun & moon rose in the west and set in the east. Also unlike Earth were life came into existence as a direct act of Creation, on Tevel life evolved from the muck of the ocean. So there were many weird life forms there. There were not always clear cut definitions between animal species. Also there were beings with four legs , five legs, six etc. , multiple heads tails and so forth.

After a long discussion which amazed and awed the king and his court, King Solomon ordered the demon to send the man back to his world. "That I cannot do" said the demon. "I only know how to bring from there but not return."

So the two headed man had to stay here. He started a business at which he was very successful , married an earth woman (1 headed) and had seven sons 6 with one head and 1 with two heads.

When the father died, the sons started fighting over the inheritance. The 2 headed son claimed that he was entitled to 2 parts as he was really 2 people sharing 1 body. The other sons said no he was 1 person with 2 heads and was only entitled to 1 portion. They decided to bring the matter to King Solomon's court.

After the King heard their arguments, he commanded his guard to bring cloth wrap up one of the heads and pour heated strong wine over it. Immediately both heads shouted "No, for then we shall both die." Wherupon King Solomon ruled that since one person does not die from another, the son was a single person with two heads and entitled to only one portion of the inheritance.
