Detailed Description of Gan Eden

When Rabbi Yehoshua ben Levi, zs'l, was about to die, the Angel of Death was instructed to carry out his will before taking his soul. He appeared before Rabbi Yehoshua and Rabbi Yehoshua said to him: "Show me my place in the world to come and give me your slaughtering knife since you might frighten me with it on the way." The Angel of Death gave him his knife.

Upon arriving in Gan Eden, the Angel of Death lifted up Rabbi Yehoshua and showed him his place. Rabbi Yehoshua jumped over to the other side but the Angel of Death grabbed him by the hem of his garment and was about to pull him back. Rabbi Yehoshua swore that he is not going to return to the Lower world.

Thereupon, HKB'H said: "If he has ever had an oath annulled while on earth then he must go back; if not, he will remain here."

Since Rabbi Yehoshua never had a vow annulled he was allowed to stay.

The Angel of Death then said: "Give my knife back to me."
Rabbi Yehoshua refused to return it. A Heavenly voice declared: "Return it to him for it is needed for humans."

Rabbi Yehoshua said to the Angel of Death: "If you want your knife back, swear to me that from now on, you will not show your knife to humans when you take their neshama (soul)."

Till then, the Angel of Death would revealingly appear and would take the soul, whether it was a man, woman, child, or baby, held in his mother's arms. When humans would see him, they would get very frightened.

The Angel of Death agreed and swore to Rabbi Yehoshua's request and received his knife back. The Angel of Death left and went to Rabban Gamliel, zs'l, complaining to him the oath he just made to Rabbi Yehoshua. Rabban Gamliel was very pleased with Rabbi Yehoshua's request. He told the Angel of Death to return to Rabbi Yehoshua and ask him to do a chesed for him. His want is to write him a detailed description of what Gan Eden and Gehenom look like.

The Angel of Death did as Rabban Gamliel instructed him and returned to Rabbi Yehoshua and told him Rabban Gamliel's request.

This is the letter that Rabban Gamiel received from Rabbi Yehoshua:

"From me, Yehoshua ben Levi inquiring about your health, Rabban Gamliel. I hereby notify you that I performed your righteous command that you sent with the Angel of Death. I went thru all of Gan Eden and found 12 gigantic houses. Each house is 120,000 amot length and 120,000 amot wide.

The first house is keneged the first gate of Gan Eden and it is for converts whom converted to Judaism. Its walls are made from white glass and the ceiling is from cedar tree. Ovadia HaTzaddik is the supervisor of the first house.

The second house is keneged Pesach Sheni of Gan Eden and its walls are from purified silver and the ceiling is from cedar tree. This house is for Baalei Teshuva. Ben Chizkiyahu is the supervisor of the second house.

The third house is keneged the third gate of Gan Eden and its wall are from purified silver and gold. Avraham, Itzchak, and Yaakov Avinu, zs'l, the entire generation that was redeemed from Eygpt, the generation of the Midbar, King David HaMelech and his sons, except Avshalom, all kings from the tribe of Yehuda, except Menashe ben Chizkiyahu (he's in the second house) are in this house. Inside the house are beautiful precious stones, gold and silver vessels, etc. Moshe Rabbenu and Aharon HaKohen, zs'l, are the supervisors of the third house.
I asked who is all the wealth and respect for and Dovid HaMelech, zs'l, answered, "It is for Am Israel."
I asked, "What about the nations of the world, will they also receive a portion of all this wealth and respect?."
Dovid HaMelech answered, "All this is only for Am Israel. The nations of the world that do good for Am Israel, HKB'H repays their rewards in their world. But Am Israel, when they sin, HKB'H punishes them in the lower Olam in order to purify them to be able to enter Olam Haba clean."

The fourth house is keneged the fourth gate of Gan Eden. It is a magnificent building, and it's ceiling is from olive trees. Inside live Tzaddikim gmurim (complete) and Anshei Emunah (believers). The reason the ceiling is from olive trees is to hint that because they made their lives bitter so much in the lower Olam to keep the Torah and its commandments, they merit Olam Haba.

The fifth house is keneged the fifth gate of Gan Eden. It is made of silver, gold, and precious stones. Nahar Gichon (river of Paradise) passes thru it. Its ceiling is made from silver and stones and inside are delicious smells. The vessels used in this house are produced by the Malachei HaSharet (ministering angels). Inside lives Moshiach and Eliyahu HaNavi, zachur latov. Eliyahu HaNavi consoles and comforts Moshiach and says to him, "Soon it will the time for the Geula, with HaShem's help."

Korach and his men, Datan and Aviram and Avshalom come at every opportunity possible and ask Moshiach, "When will Am Israel be redeemed so we can also be redeemed from our punishments?".
Moshiach answers them, "Till when are you going to ask me? Go ask your Forefathers, Avraham, Itzchak, and Yaakov and they will tell you."
When they hear Moshiach's answer, they feel ashamed to ask the Forefathers and return to their place, disappointed.

When I went to the Melech HaMoshiach, he inquired about Am Israel, "What are Am Israel doing in the world you just came from?."
I answered him, "Every single day, the precious Bnei Israel are waiting for you, expecting you to redeem them from the cruel cruel world."
Moshiach raised his crying voice and yelled a loud bitter yell that shocked all Angels in Upper Worlds.

In the sixth house live Jewish souls that went to do a Mitzvah and died on the way. In the seventh house live that Tzaddikim that received much suffering in the lower Olam because of Am Israel's sins.

These are the 7 houses. The other 5 houses I cannot reveal to you, as it says on them, עין לא ראתה an eye did not see...
