Rulership of Moshiach
It is told that once a King asked a Rav how is it possible that the Jews believe that Moshiach will take over the world? It is against all odds and unnatural that one person can take control over the entire world.
The Rav told him to give him a few days to give him an answer. A few days passed and the Rav returned to the King with a request. "Will the King agree to purchase 70 strong and healthy chickens and 1 young and weak chicken?." The King agreed and the Rav instructed that all the chickens be placed in a closed room without food and water.
The following day, the Rav and the King entered the room and threw grains for the chickens to eat. All the hungry chickens attacked the grains, and each other. They pecked at one another, trying to get to the grains. Feathers were flying all over the place, and much blood was spilled.
While the chickens were harming one another, the little weak chicken was standing in a corner, not interfering, hiding under a chair. After the chickens were all wounded and battered, the room became silent. On the floor layed 70 beaten chickens.
Only then, the small weak chicken dared to come out of his hiding quarter. Seeing all the chickens unable to move, and barely able to pick up their heads, the little chicken went straight to the grains and ate it all, undisturbed.
"You see, my King", said the Rav, "The small weak chicken is like Moshiach. When it will be time for the Moshiach to be revealed, HKB'H will make all 70 nations of the world fight one another and much blood will be spilled. They will be so weak, wounded and battered, and unable to raise their heads, and then, a single person will arrive -- Moshiach, and he will have complete rulership and redeem us.
