Amazing Inspiring Story

The old man has one of the most beautiful toy store in Northern Israel. One day, 2 men walk in the store, checking this item and that item and in their little black book, wrote the prices of the items in the store.

2 days later, the same 2 men returned to the store and identified themselves as IRS clerks and notified the old man that according to their calculations, he owes the IRS 150,000 shekels. They gave the old man 30 days to appeal or pay.

The old man was devestated. He cried to HKB'H and begged that this debt should be erased. A week later he approached his bookcase and pulled out Igrat Kodesh of the Lubavitch Rebbe, zs'l, and this was the answer he received: "Nothing was created in this world for nothing. Each creature has a purpose and a reason why it was sent into this world. An example of this is the story of the Admor Tzemach Tzedek, zs'l, and the mice."

The old man did not understand but the Rebbe's answer thru Igrat Kodesh comforted him and he believed that salvation will arrive.

The story the Rebbe was referring to was about Hillel. His source of income was from a 'bar' he rented from a Polish nobleman. Stefan, a non-Jew, owed money and refused to pay so Hillel refused to serve him any longer. Stefan swore revenge on the Jew, and he went to the authorities and falsely accused Hillel of not paying taxes.

The authorities ruled a court date. Hillel went to the Tsemach Tsedek and begged him to bless him. "Don't cry and don't complain", the Rebbe told him. "HaShem will help you. "Nothing was created in this world for nothing. Each creature has a purpose and a reason why it was sent into this world, even mice. Go home, Hillel, and trust HaShem for salvation."

The court date arrived. None of the witnesses arrived, except Stefan and 2 members of the investigating team. All the paperwork that the investigating team prepared was gone! The mice entered the drawer and chewed on the investigation papers, leaving only crumbs.

The Judge had no alternative and announced the case dismissed and released Hillel from all debt.

The old man had no clue how the mice can help his case, because now-a-days, everything is kept on disks, and even if the mice chew the disks, the information can be retrieved from the hard drive and reprinted.

But, 2 days before the hearing, the same 2 IRS clerks returned to his store and said, "Listen, something very weird happened. Your whole file was erased from the IRS computers. Someone accidentally erased your whole file with one wave of the mouse! Your case is dismissed and you are exempt from debts to the IRS."

Now the old man clearly understood the Rebbe's answer, "Nothing was created in this world for nothing. Each creature has a purpose and a reason why it was sent into this world. An example for this is the story of the Admor Tzemach Tzedek, zs'l, and the mice."
