How to Fix the World

A scientist was sitting while working when all of a sudden, his 7 year old son appears and is determined to help him in the work. The father scientist got very nervous being distrubed while working and asked his son to go elsewhere to play but the son was adament and refused to budge. The father looked for something to occupy his son and he found a magazine with a picture of a map of the world. He tore out the page, sliced the map into small sizes and gave his son the sliced map with glue and paper.

"You enjoy puzzles", he told his son, "take the cut up world map and see if you can put it together all by yourself".

The scientist thought this project would take a couple of weeks, if not months, for his son to rebuild the map. Within a few short hours, he heard his son calling to him. "Dad, I finished, I succeeded reattaching the world". The father found this hard to believe, 'it's not possible that a 7 year old boy can reattach the world map, especially since he never even saw a map in his life!'.

He got up and walked towards his son, expecting a big messy job. But to his surprise, the map was reattached perfectly and all pieces were correctly placed. "How did you do it?", the scientist asked his son, "you don't even know what a map looks like".

"Dad", replied the innocent son, "I don't know what the world map looks like, but when you ripped out the map, I saw on the other side a picture of a man. At first I tried putting the map together but could not. So I turned all the pieces to the other side and began fixing the man... When I finished fixing the man, I turned the page around and saw I was also able to fix the world...

הוא תלש מאיזו חוברת דף עם מפת העולם, גזר אותה לחתיכות קטנות, ונתן לילד יחד עם גליל נייר דבק.
"אתה אוהב פאזלים" הוא אמר, "קח את העולם המפורק ונראה אם אתה יכול לתקנו ! בכוחות עצמך ".

המדען חשב שייקח לילד ימים רבים, עד שיצליח להרכיב את המפה, אבל כמה שעות לאחר מכן,
שמע את קולו של הבן קורא לו "אבא, סיימתי, הצלחתי להרכיב הכל ".
בהתחלה, לא האמין המדען: " זה לא ייתכן שבגיל שבע יוכל הילד להרכיב מחדש מפת העולם שמימיו לא ראה !!! "
אבל הוא הניח את רשימותיו, וניגש לבנו, כשהוא בטוח שהוא הולך לראות עבודה מבולגנת ...
להפתעתו, המפה הייתה מושלמת וכל החתיכות היו במקומן.

"איך עשית את זה? "שאל המדען את בנו "הרי לא ידעת איך נראה העולם ".
"אבא", ענה הילד, "אני אמנם לא ידעתי איך נראה העולם, אבל כאשר תלשת את הדף מהחוברת, ראיתי שבצידו השני יש תמונה של אדם.
כשנתת לי לתקן את העולם, ניסיתי אבל לא הצלחתי. אז הפכתי את כל החתיכות והתחלתי לתקן את האדם.
כשהצלחתי לתקן את האדם, הפכתי את הדף וראיתי שהצלחתי לתקן גם את העולם...
