Ima Devorah HaNevia

While reading Devorah's Song on Shabbat, I suddenly noticed that she sings about the present situation of the road danger and how circuitous roads had to be made, and how people could not live in unwalled towns in the valleys.

Since 1992, we have lived in the area of Ephraim (near Shilo) and experience this then and today. All over mountainous Yesha the danger is the same.

We used to have to drive through the center of Ramallah with our plastic windows up and go as fast as we could which was never fast enough to avoid bricks and stones. Then the government made circuitous roads to go around Arab towns so we could be safer [?] and then the Arabs used them to shoot at us. As we flew through the beautiful countryside with all our windows up and guns ready, we observed wistfully as the Arabs walked leisurely on our holy land, picked olives, picnicked, grazed their goats and sheep. We drove up the hills to our fenced and patrolled yishuvs which had to be on the hills because we would not survive a day down in the valleys.

Devorah's Song is speaking to all of us today who live in yishuvim. We desperately need her to arise and be our mother and encourage the government to put an end to it.

Just a week ago my daughter and her husband and child were "stoned" with huge stones on the way home from Kiryat Sefer to the Talmon yishuvim area. The government has built many "circuitous" roads in that area alone.

We need help and rulership from Devorah Hanevia and Barak, zs'l. We need the arrival of Mashiach.

May HaKadosh Boruch Hu quickly send us relief and courage and Mashiach Tzidkenu.
In ever increasing hope and faith in His soon redemption,
R.S.
