No Switcharoo Deal

Returning from Israel, I was feeling tired and exhausted. All I wanted to do, like everyone else after a long flight, is to get home to my familiar surrounding, as soon as possible.

After about 20 minutes, I spotted my luggage coming around on the luggage carrousel. The luggage was heavy and big and I must have hit 5 people while having a tug of war with it. Finally, I succeeded placing it on the wagon. Next, passport checks. B'h, everything's clear, set to go. I go thru the exit doors and I hear behind me someone with authority say, "Get back here right now". I innocently turn around and see 5 security guards with a dog that looked more like a wolf. "Me?", one of the guards retorts "Yes, you!!!".

'Oh shrek, what did I do?', I think to myself. They take me to a non-VIP room and tell me to place my luggage on the table and open it for inspection. Feeling tired and confused, I replied, "It's too heavy and you are 5 men, one of you is definitely stronger than me.". One of them felt bad for me and picked up the "cargo" onto the table.

"Open it up", barked a security guard. I proceeded to open the luggage and noticed that nothing inside looks familiar, it contained man's cloths and and belongings. 'OOOOOPS, I picked up the wrong luggage, thinking it was mine'. An innocent mistake, no?

I apologized and said I'll return it to the luggage carrousel and look for my luggage. The officers escorted me and in the hall, we see a man frantically yelling that this is not his luggage. He picked up clothing and threw them back in, yelling sacristically "does this skirt look like something I'd wear?".

Alright, mystery solved. We had identical luggages and switched it erroneously.

Years later, thinking about that incident, I realized that there is a big lesson to be learned from this. I could have picked up any luggage, maybe a Samsonite that rolls, from the luggage carrousel, instead of my withered 70 lbs luggage.

Same with life; we are all comfortable in our our lives, even with its trials, tests, and tribulations. For all the luxury of the worlds, we don't want to have someone else's life.

Thanks to http://mysticalpaths.blogspot.com/2006/12/nothing.html, who inspired me to seek the truth.
