Prophet Miriam's Drums
2 Chassidim annually went to visit their Rebbe in a faraway city. On their way, every year, they would sleep at the same inn. They'd tell the innkeeper the special power their Rebbe has.
One year the owner asked the Chassidim to ask their Rebbe for a bracha "20 years of marriage and I don't have a child. Please, ask your Rebbe to daven for my wife to conceive". The Chassidim promised to ask their Rebbe and the wife, overhearing the conversation, innocently understood she can purchased a stroller for the baby.[+/-] show/hide text
The Chassidim asked their Rebbe for a bracha (blessings) for the innkeeper. The following year, they again stopped at the inn. As they entered, the innkeeper danced and sang "Come my friends, the blessings of your Rebbe came true. Right now is the Brit and you will be the Sandak and you will be the Blesser".
After the Brit, they continued their journey to their Rebbe. When they arrived, they told everyone the miracle of the Rebbe's blessing. But instead of happiness, they found one Chassid very bitter and angry. "How's it possible that the Rebbe's blessing was accepted? Why doesn't the Rebbe give my wife and I the same blessing?. For 15 years I've been asking for a blessing for a child and the Rebbe blesses us and we are still childless". The Rebbe answered him that the blessing is the same but the innkeeper's wife bought a stroller and therefore, the blessing effected its outcome".
The drums of Prophet Miriam is like the baby's stroller. "ותצאנה כל הנשים אחריה בתופים ובמחולות" Miriam the prophet, Aaron's sister, picked up a hand-drum, and all the women went out after her in dance with drums and Am Israel followed. The act of the women was the most tremendous stimulus for the Geula of Egypt.
Also today we, the women, should feel excited to purchase for our husbands and children special clothings and even prepare the drums, flutes, violin for Moshiach's arrival.
(NK's comment: I have a friend whom at 32 was still single. She desperately wanted to get married and decided to purchase a wig as a stimilus to get married. 5 weeks later, we were dancing at her engagment party...)
