First Sefer Torah for Bet HaMikdash

A secular family from Haifa is writing the first Sefer Torah for the third and final Bet HaMikdash – in remembrance of family members that were murdered during the Holocaust.

The Reva family asked to write a Sefer Torah in their memory and requested that it should be written specifically for the third Bet HaMikdash. The Sefer Torah, say Shoshana and Rafael Reva, is meant to unite the nation and brought in to the Bet HaMikdash when it'll be built.

Family members asked to point out that "the fact that a secular family is preparing a Sefer Torah for the Bet HaMikdash - the first since the destruction of the second Bet HaMikdash, will shutter the legend of diverse sects in Am Israel and will also strengthen to unite the nation, because we are all brothers." The family requested that the ceremony of the opening of writing the Sefer Torah begin at the Temple Institute in Yerushalayim. Until the Sefer Torah will enter the Bet HaMikdash, it will remain in the Temple Institute and will be used for functions to bond the Jewish nation.

The CEO of the Temple Institute, Harav Israel Ariel, said, "the most central part of the Bet HaMikdash is the Holy of Holies, and inside is the Sefer Torah from Moshe Rabenu, zs'kl. It symbolizes the unity of Am Israel and for this, the Bet HaMikdash was built."
