Have Faith

Tov Hashem Lakol Verachamav al Kol Maasav – HaShem is good unto all and provides mercy unto all of His creatures.

The meanings, implications, and lessons of of HaShem's infinite mercy can be read in the following true story that took place in Morocco...

When he was about 7 years old, he went with his teacher for a walk on the beach. The teacher was his Rebbe zsk'l; a true Tzaddik and a Mekubal. While walking with his Rebbe, the young boy noticed a stranger throwing a midsized round rock into the water. When the young student saw this, he innocently asked his Rebbe, "My teacher, you taught us that everything that happens in this world has a reason. My question is, why did HaShem send this person to throw this specific rock inside the waters?"

The Rebbe answered him that if he wants an answer to this question, he must dive into the water to retrieve the rock. Without a moment's hesitation, the young student excitedly swam towards to area he saw the rock falling into and dived to retrieve the rock. When he found the midsized round rock, he quickly picked it up and swam back to his Rebbe to show him.

His Rebbe told him to take a small rock and gently bang it against the midsize round rock and by doing this, it will reveal the answer to his question. The excited boy did as his Rebbe instructed and the midsized round rock slices into two. Inside the rock he saw a worm feeding off on a leaf and on the leaf was a small droplet of water. The young boy was amazed to find a worm eating inside the rock but he didn't yet understand why this specific rock was thrown into the waters. The Rebbe told him, "Although the worm had food with him, he didn't have water and was suffering from dehydration. At that same moment, HKB'H sent a stranger to throw this rock into the water to send relief to the worm and have water to drink. When the worm revived, HKB'H sent you to retrieve him back."

What a lesson! Know that the strength of the verse is not limited to the wide scope of HaShem’s care and involvement in every dimension of the creation, but rather His goodness is inclusiveness to all.

טוב ה' לכל ורחמיו על כל מעשיו
HaShem is good unto all and provides mercy unto all of His creatures.
