Reversible and Irreversible
Once when the Grand Rabbi Pinchas Menachem Alter, zs'kl, the Gerrer Rebbe Pnei Menachem, went inside a taxi together with his Shamash ("helper" in Hebrew), they sat facing one another (in some taxis, the car seats are placed opposite one another). The Rebbe sat in the regular chair and the Shamash sat with his back to the driver.
In his gentle holy way, the Gerrer Rebbe smiled and said to the Shamash, "The Shamash שמש could sit reversed because the word Shamash reads from right to left and in reverse the same, remaining Shamash. But a leader can never be reversed because if Chalila (Go.d forbid) he reverses, it turns the leader מנהיג into Gehenom גיהנם.
