Unique Unification
Something very interesting is occuring in our generation, in the footsteps of Moshiach, a remarkable phenomenon. The one and only occurence in all of history of this manifestation.
Suddenly, Eretz Israel absorbed millions of people from the diaspora; Yemenite together with Litvich, Iraquis with Polands, Hungaries with Morrocans, Romans with Syrians, Russians with Tunisians, Germans with Egyptians, Austrians with Tripolians, Turks with Persians, and of course, Americans, French, and English are also our next door neighbors. The list continues with Hassidim with non-Hassidim, Mitnagdim and not, Sefardim and Ashkenazim, Teymanim and Bucharians...
Each ethnic group has its traditions, songs, Rebbes, style, unique conceptions, Poskim and traditions, prayer formula (nuscha), language, likings, manners, mentality, food, etc. This is also just a partial list, the list goes on....
All of us gathered in Eretz Israel from all ends of the earth and jammed packed into concentrated neighborhoods; window by window, door by door, path crossing alleys, Shteibels by shuls, Yeshivot by groceries, preschools by gardens. And when we all meet, whether it's at the grocery, the shul, the stairways, the streets, we greet one another.
Enter a city like Yerushalayim, you will find all sorts of people, including Thailands, blacks, Belgiums, Pakistans, Greeks, Chineses, Japanese, Indians, Mexicans. Anywhere else besides the Holy Land, you will hear the following day stories of murder, rape, arsons, and pogroms.
Logically, anticipation of such a mixed crowd would cause chaos, similar results to those who attempted to build the Babvli tower. This does not understand that, this wants A, that wants B, no friendly neighbors, this one yelling in Polish and that one yelling in Arabic, and eventually, not being able to tolerate one another.
What a miracle - Am Israel is the Chosen nation. Even though we were all separated for 2,000 years, we merited to return home and reunite - Shivtei Israel, one heart, one person. We love and care for one another, help one another, assist each other, babysit for one another, cook for one another, shop for one another, learn with one another, sing with one another.
We became like a choir of 36 musical instruments in the Heichal of HaShem, singing to HKB'H.
A stranger would not understand this, a non-Jew would never believe it.
