WEDNESDAY 17 OF CHESHVAN/NOVEMBER 8TH - A DAY OF FASTING

Rambam, zs'l, writes that those who dismiss cataclysmic events as something accidental, without any connection to Divine Providence, pursue the "path of cruelty." By finding excuses not to examine and improve our actions, we doom ourselves to the repetition of similar tragedies.

The Brisker Rav, zs'l, was fond of pointing out that prophet Yona, zs'l, admitted immediately that he was the cause of the huge waves engulfing the ship. Though he was on a ship filled with idol worshippers, at whom it would have been easy to point the finger of blame, Yona knew that G-d directs His messages primarily to those who have trained themselves to listen.

Statement from Rav Elyashiv and Rav Shteinman shlita “We do not claim to know the reason why troubles have befallen us, but certainly any areas we improve can be effective in removing HaKodosh Boruch Hu’s wrath.”

Every religious Jew believes that a spiritual calculus underlies the events of this world. That belief is restated twice each day in the recitation of the second paragraph of Shema. When bad things happen to Klal Yisrael, first assume that God’s message is being directed to those who acknowledge Him. “There is no way to know the ways of Heaven, but certainly every individual can examine his own conduct.”

Rav Sternbuch has specifically singled-out the “Pride gay Parade” as the most egregious contemporary example of this sexual anarchy, and the one that evokes heavenly wrath more than the others, because of its very public—in your face—rebellion against G-D in his Holy Land.
There are days when all of Am Yisroel fasts because of the trouble which befell them, in order to awaken our hearts to begin down the path of teshuva. It is a reminder of our evil deeds and the deeds of our forefathers that were like our present ones, until they caused them and us these troubles.

Fasts are also to annul decrees, as in the time of Purim. "...Esther spoke to Mordechai, "Go, assemble all the Jews who may be found in Shushan and fast...do not eat and do not drink...".

WEDNESDAY 17 OF CHESHVAN - NOVEMBER 8TH - A DAY OF FASTING;
The fast will begins at dawn ("Alot Hashachar") and will end after nightfall ("Tzait Hakochavim").

Cry out to HaShem to cancel the Pride Parade and to save us all from the horrors of Gog uMagog and to bring the FINAL REDEMPTION with much mercy. May Hashem answer our prayers and genuine tears and bring us the redemption - Amen!

By Sara Y.:
Jerusalem my love,
Jerusalem my Life ,
Daughter of Israel intended to the king ,
offended , blemished by indecency ,
given out , sold off to the foes ,
delivered over to the enemy's hand ,
unveiled to the muddy crowd
to appease the weak's anger
and confort the banished pride.
It is a time of war
for your beloved servants ,
they will not let you go...
They will spare no breath , no wealth ,
neither their blood
to insure your Honor ,
and for Our king to find you
untouched and safe ,
For the Alliance Day .
Don't look away from us ,
forgive us for thinking
they would not dare to attend your palace ,
and desacrate your Grace .
Fogive us for sleeping at your door's wall
and drinking the wine of victory,
in time of great danger.
Although it's late now ,
Pray for our strenght and resistance ,
For us to reinforce our spirit and soul ,
so we will have the merit to Return
in Victory and perfect Joy
for all Eternity .
