The shoresh of the word התכנסות is כנס (gathering). Everyday, we say 3 times in the Amida:
ונפוצותינו כנס מירכתי ארץ, וקבצנו יחד מארבע כנפות
GATHER US FROM ALL 4 CORNERS TO ERETZ YISRAEL
Although the EREV RAV are not aware of the direct link of our daily prayers, they are involuntarily stating the same - all Jews be "gathered".
Trust completely our Aba in the Shamayim. It's HaShem's "grand" plan, preparing us for the final Geula.

Actually, it's a green line.
Why do they call it a green line?
Because the gemara in Chagiga 12a states:
תנא תהו קו ירוק שמקיף את כל העולם כולו שממנו יצא חשך
"Tohu is a green line that goes around the entire world and from it comes darkness."
Another reason it's called green becuz it's always greener on the other side :)
