Fools and Hypocrites

The refusal of religious soldiers to participate in the forcible evacuation of two Jewish families from the Hebron market place on Tuesday has led to heated public debate on the issue of refusing orders.

Some 200,000 leaflets have been prepared to support the 12 soldiers, yeshiva students in military service, who stood disciplinary trial for their insubordination and were sentenced to 14-28 days imprisonment. "The people of Israel strengthen and support the soldiers who obeyed the laws of the Torah and refused to carry out the criminal order to expel Jews from the City of the Patriarchs – Hebron," proclaimed a leaflet to be distributed by the SOS Israel organization this weekend. Defense Minister Barak, "This phenomenon of refusing orders does not belong here... Any act of refusal – of any stripe – does not belong here with us, in an army like ours. We have no intention indulging it," he added.
While most condemn soldiers for refusing to follow orders, there are also those who commend it.

June 1974, Ariel Sharon drove into the northern West Bank. In a field of thistles south of the Palestinian city of Nablus, the short, bulky ex-general joined a hundred young activists from a radical right-wing protest movement who were busily setting up a new settlement. The activists' aim was to ensure that Israel retained permanent rule of the entire West Bank, in defiance of the policy of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who'd taken office just two days before.

That night, Israeli troops received orders to remove the settlers. As the soldiers dragged protesters to waiting buses, an enraged Sharon stormed through the melee, roaring, "Refuse orders! Refuse orders! . . . This is an immoral order, and you have to disobey that kind of order."

20 years later, the most famous evacuation was Gush Katif, led by former activist Ariel Sharon. In his infamous speech about soldiers refusing orders, he said, "Insubordination is dangerous to us as an army, as a society and as a nation. This is not legitimate and inappropriate."

HEAR ME O ISRAEL!
Hear me, you fools and hypocrites!
Behold! Your Kingly Father has bestowed upon
You the Promised Land
And you have taken His gift
And perverted it to your evil ways.

Sharon is a traitor, Barak is a traitor, Netanyahu is a traitor, the entire government of Israel consists of traitors, fools, and hypocrites. Whom are the true soldiers? Only those that follow the holy Torah and its commandments.
